As president of the Culver City Police Officers’ Association, let me thank
you for your support over the years. You have made a real contribution toward
a sense of shared community commitment to the greater good. This year has been a very difficult one for our association since we lost one of our own, Lt. Curt Massey. And we know it’s been a hard year for many of you with the economic downturn that has been so devastating to so many families.
The officers and sergeants of CCPOA usually sponsor a fund-raising dance this time of year and we call you to sell tickets, but we aren’t holding this event this year. We can’t just dance around the issue in 2009 – we need your help more than ever.
Your Generosity Means More Than You Know
Whatever you can spare, even during these tough times, will go a long way to alleviate the needs of our officers and their families. We put your donations into a fund to assist officers with insurance for long-term care, long-term disability and death benefits for spouses and children. Your kind support helps us be there for officers and their families in times of need, in times of tragedy – to arrange and attend funerals, to give our fallen the respect they deserve.
Our Commitment to Community Remains Strong
We will still hold our annual Santa Sleigh event and will, as always, be very active volunteers in the civic events of Culver City, especially working with our youth to help them succeed.
